Does PetSmart actually donate to charity? ›

We work in partnership with our in-store adoption program in all PetSmart® stores across the U.S. and Puerto Rico. PetSmart Charities delivers robust local and national grant funding that: helps more than 2,500 animal welfare organizations matching people with pets through adoption.

This organization is tax-exempt under section 501(c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code.It is eligible to receive contributions deductible as charitable donations for federal income tax purposes.

By collaborating with Meals on Wheels America, PetSmart Charities helps support new and existing pet assistance services, including pet food deliveries, access to veterinary care, and other critical services, for pet-owning older adults.

At PetSmart our small pets like hamsters and guinea pigs sell pretty quickly. However, occasionally “special needs” animals turn up which can't be sold on the floor, and those are adopted out, for little or nothing, to customers who will care for them. Quite a few of them are adopted by employees.

Returning Products Purchased at a PetSmart Store

If you're not satisfied with a product purchased in the store, simply bring the product in its original packaging and in new or salable condition to any PetSmart store to be returned.

If you see rips in the seams or stuffing coming out, it's time to get rid of the toy. Additionally, rubber toys should be thrown away once they rip or tear. Broken rubber toys can have sharp edges that can cause injury to your companion's mouth or even stomach if they ingest the broken toy.

We have a 14 day return policy to cover fish. Keep your receipt, and if the fish dies, put the body in a small container or plastic bag and bring it and the receipt to the store. Someone in Pet Care will arrange for a refund or replacement, if you prefer.
