Why is T-Mobile saying my card number is invalid? ›

This indicates a problem with the information entered for the card. Double-check the credit card number, expiration date, and CVV.

T-Mobile is no longer accepting credit cards or Apple Pay for AutoPay deductions. The wireless carrier recently sent reminders to its customers to link their bank account or debit card to continue to use AutoPay.

For login issues, don't access your T-Mobile account online from a bookmark/favorites, try manually entering the website address and retry logging in. There is a limit of 30 login attempts in a 24-hour period.

Some of the reasons you might see an "Invalid Card" error: The credit card has expired, reached its limit, or is not being authorized as a valid credit card. The credit card is not authorized for Internet transactions or has some other block in place. The credit card has not been activated yet.

An invalid card number means that the card is likely closed at the card issuing bank and is effectively an invalid card. If the cardholder says that the card is not closed, then the cardholder should contact the card issuing bank to resolve the issue.

Your card may be declined for a number of reasons: the card has expired; you're over your credit limit; the card issuer sees suspicious activity that could be a sign of fraud; or a hotel, rental car company, or other business placed a block (or hold) on your card for its estimated total of your bill.

Be active on AutoPay at the time of bill processing. Have paid the prior month's bill by its due date. Cards with statements mailed to foreign addresses can't be used for AutoPay. Payment method must be a debit card or linked bank account.

Anytime your account is past due, your service may be partially suspended. If the balance on your account remains unpaid, a full suspension may occur. A $20 account restoration fee will be charged per line plus taxes, due at time of restoration, if your account is partially or fully suspended.

Sometimes, the error can be caused by issues related to the network or your service provider. Network outages or disruptions can temporarily render your SIM invalid. Additionally, an inactive or expired SIM card can lead to this error.
